Abhi,,,,i have this box ..full of cards...i have recd,,,from time to time on my birthday...and few otherwise also..depending on the mood n occasions.
i was going thru them..and sum r dated as long as ..15 yrs back..and r still treasured...it gave me reason to b nostalgic and each one of them ..equally important..
i was wondering ...the importance of cards and how much they speak to us ..even after ..years ...and words started flowing and this is Wat i wrote :)
"" Man has always been a slave to his emotions.However he has found it difficult to express them especially when an event occurs that makes him remember his loved ones .
Cards are wonderful medium that aptly express unspoken words.It shows the recipients that they are special.They are more expressive as they say more than the words in them ,It conveys that u have made an effort. Fond memories can b preserved in form of cards as it captures the essence of every mood .
Emotions like love can be beautifully expressed in three simple words but these words are rarely spoken..may be because they are the most difficult words to utter. Even if one does manage to say it,,,a couple of words do not match the whole gamut of emotions within .
A card not only put your feelings into words it also helps keep these words fresh in the mind of the recipient.Think about it ...how many times have u turned the pages of a book to find a card inside ...to brighten up your day..even ten years after it was sent .In short..when u cant find words to express your feelings..its a card u turn to ...not just because it says what you want to ..but because some people in our lives are worth telling that you care for them .
Now card have been replaced by e-cards ...still it hasn't lost its essence ..they r still my most treasured moments ...both receiving as well as emailing them ""
